We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, from supplier identification and evaluation to contract negotiation and order processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement best practices, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers. The incumbent ensures compliance with appropriate guidelines, policies, and internal controls. Duties include purchasing supplies, equipment, and furnishings within a set dollar amount, and preparing bids, as required. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager of WAM USA Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and supplier conditions.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
• Create and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
• Analyze costs associated with goods and services to ensure optimal value.
• Benchmark prices in the market to negotiate competitive rates.
• Generate and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth order fulfillment.
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers.
• Ensure procured goods and services meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations.
• Track and evaluate supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Generate reports to provide insights into procurement metrics and trends.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Implement changes to enhance the effectiveness of the procurement process.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or 2 years of proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.
• Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
