Club Description:
Wampanoag Country Club located at 60 Wampanoag Drive, West Hartford CT 06117 is a full service private country club. Our members enjoy the area’s most challenging golf course, quality dining, social activities and a swimming and paddle tennis complex. Our renowned laid-back atmosphere provides the perfect setting for member enjoyment and relaxation.
Currently the club is transitioning through a significant phase in its rich 100 year life time. The construction of a brand new 30,000 sq ft clubhouse is on track for a grand opening in the fall of 2025. Ushering in a great new era of Wampanoag CC membership and amenities. The facility will be complete with a grand ballroom, expansive patio opening up vistas to the recently renovated 1924 Donald Ross designed course. Off the patio is a grill room and bar. Administrative offices, sitting room, kitchen and pro shop are also found on the main level. Upper level of the facility will have a member only bar and dining terrace, card room, Board room, golf simulators. Lower level adds a gym space and children's area. Rounding out the lower level are full service men's and women's locker rooms, both containing steam rooms and saunas.

Job Summary:
Develop policies to control and coordinate accounting, auditing, budgets, taxes and related activities and records; develop, establish and administer procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters. Prepare financial statements, forecasts and analyses for all administrative and managerial functions. Maintain all accounting records; develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information. Evaluate operating results in terms of costs, revenues, budgets, policies of operation, trends and increased profit possibilities. Supervise the staffing, scheduling, training and professional development of department members.
Desired Qualifications:
The Controller candidate should have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent business experience. Have a minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience. Preference will be given to candidates who hold Certified Public Accountant designation. Interest and/or participation in professional organizations such as HFTP or CMAA is encouraged. Familiarity with Club Management applications such as Jonas, ClubEssential, Northstar is preferred but not required.
