WANDER STAFFING seeks to add twenty (20) Med/Surg Registered Nurses to our Team ASAP! This position is located at the Gallup Indian Medical Center, Gallup, NM 87301

Where: The Division of Nursing Services in the Gallup Medical Center, 516 E Nizhoni Blvd, Gallup, NM 87301
Pay:

• $90/hour
• $10/hour weekday on call
• $15/hour weekend on call

Experience:

• Thirty-six (36) months of nursing experience
• A minimum of twelve months (12) as a Med/Surg RN

License/Registration:

• Possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States

Certifications

• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program
• Current BLS, ACLS

Schedule:

• 84 hours per period
• 12-hour Day/Night Rotating Weekends and Holidays

About the Position: This position is in the Division of Nursing Service at Gallup Indian Medical Center. The Medical-Surgical Units are on the second and third floors. The second-floor unit is a 15-bed unit, and the third floor has a capacity of 19 beds. Both units have telemetry patients they care for and manage. The clinical specialties of these units include surgery, trauma, medical, and psychiatry.

Core Duties:

• Administers therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician, such as medication, treatments, IV fluids, blood transfusions, nasogastric tubes, foleys, etc.
• Consults with members of the multidisciplinary team for the management of the patient.
• Initiate treatment, medications, and emergency and resuscitative measures based on appropriate utilization of standing protocols in conjunction with ACLS guidelines.
• Management and care of telemetry patients.
• Functions as a primary nurse on all units of the hospital.
• Maintains professional knowledge and skill and keeps license and certifications current.
• Observe the clinical conditions of adults
• Interprets findings and immediately decides on proper action
• Administers blood components as ordered

Tentative start date: 04/2025 (could fluctuate slightly due to credentialing and security requirements)

Duration of Contract: 24 months with the option to extend further.

Time Off: Time off requests are coordinated with the department Nursing Supervisor or designee prior to any absence from work. If the length of the absence exceeds eight (8) work hours and beyond, the RN shall notify the department Nursing Supervisor (the exception is verifiable emergencies) before the desired absence.
