Job Overview

We’re looking for a talented and creative UI/UX Designer to join the Wanderboat team. In this role, you will craft intuitive and engaging interfaces that bring our vision to life, enhancing the user journey with seamless, visually appealing, and user-friendly designs. Collaborating with our product and engineering teams, you’ll ensure that Wanderboat’s design embodies our values of discovery, connection, and ease.

Key Responsibilities

  • UI/UX Design: Conceptualize and create user-centered designs for web and mobile applications, focusing on intuitive navigation, accessibility, and brand consistency.
  • User Research & Testing: Conduct user research, interviews, and usability tests to gather insights, analyze feedback, and make data-driven design improvements.
  • Wireframing & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas effectively and work closely with product and development teams.
  • Design Systems: Build and maintain a scalable design system ensuring visual consistency across the platform.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Engage with cross-functional teams, aligning on goals and insights to refine the product experience.
  • Iteration & Feedback: Actively seek feedback and iterate on designs based on user insights, analytics, and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 years of UI/UX design experience with a portfolio showcasing web and mobile projects.
  • Skills: Proficient in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar tools, with a strong understanding of responsive design.
  • User-Centric Mindset: Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles, including usability and accessibility best practices.
  • Research & Testing: Background in user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present and discuss design concepts.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing creativity with practicality.
  • Attention to Detail: High standards for aesthetics, detail, and consistency to ensure optimal user experiences.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in travel, hospitality, or outing-focused applications.
  • Familiarity with front-end development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) to facilitate the design-developer handoff.
