The Assistant Designer will support the design team in creating and developing innovative and trend-driven designs. - With Designer, create and maintain tech packs including detailed technical sketches and specifications for each design, ensuring accurate communication to the vendors and product development
- Assist in fit sessions, taking notes and making updates after fittings.
- Organize and manage seasonal approvals: Fabric/Trims, Lab Dips, Print and Graphic Strike Offs.
- Organize and manage seasonal design samples, ensuring they are properly catalogued and stored
- Ensure T/Packs and VLPs are updated and accurate at key milestone dates.
- Ensure calendar is adhered to and all deadlines are met
- Work closely with Sr. Design Director, Designer and Product Developer, Merchandiser and Production to ensure cohesive and integrated collections
- Assist in preparing presentations of design concepts and collections for senior management and key stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in fashion design, preferably within a lifestyle or fashion apparel brand
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including sketches, technical drawings, and finished products
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD
- Understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and technical specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics and trends
- This position may require occasional travel to fabric suppliers, manufacturers, and industry events
- The role is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 in-office days/week and may involve work in various environments depending on design and production activities
