What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional position at WAR Ministry Corporation?
WAR Ministry Corporation is seeking paraprofessionals to work as support technicians, teaching ADL skills to youth with developmental disabilities. The support technician will provide in-home individual support services (ISS) to youth under the age of 21.
We are also looking for paraprofessionals who can provide respite services for youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
ISS and respite workers are needed to work in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Passaic and Union Counties.
Transportation required.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Must have at least one (1) year of supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans for individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Able to follow directions, procedures, and all ethical guidelines
- Good analytical/critical thinking skills with the ability to record and track therapy progress Ability to communicate and represent self in a professional manner
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Must be reliable and flexible, with a strong work ethic
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement interventions in Behavior Support Plan
- Teach skills to the youth
- Train parent/guardian in implementation of Behavior Support Plan
- Data collection
- Progress Notes
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Driver’s License/Abstract (not to exceed 5 points) required and CPR/First Aid Certification required. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
