Position Overview:
As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with our seasoned attorneys on a broad range of matters. This includes business disputes, real estate-related cases, zoning and land use conflicts, construction law issues, employment law disputes, and estate planning matters. You will have the opportunity to handle complex and varied legal issues from start to finish, gaining significant exposure to multiple facets of litigation and legal practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in business, real estate, zoning/land use, construction law, employment law, estate planning and estate litigation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research, prepare legal memoranda, and analyze case law to support litigation strategies.
- Participate in and manage pre-trial, trial, and post-trial activities, including depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Advise clients on legal matters related to real estate transactions, property rights, land use/zoning regulations, construction contracts, employment law issues, and estate planning.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, settlement discussions, and trial preparation.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing timely updates on case progress and legal advice.
- Manage case files, including deadlines, discovery, and trial preparation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Must be eligible for admission to practice in Maryland.
- 0–5 years of litigation experience, with exposure to business law, real estate, zoning/land use, construction law, employment law, or estate planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex cases and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong case management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team environment.
- A client-focused attitude with a passion for delivering results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in real estate, zoning and land use law, including permitting, variances, and land development disputes.
- Familiarity with construction law, including contractor disputes, lien claims, and construction defect issues.
- Knowledge of employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination claims, wage and hour laws, and employment contracts.
- Experience in estate planning and probate litigation, including contested wills and trust disputes.
- Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including mediation and arbitration.

Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
