What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at Ward-Humphrey General Contractors?
At Ward-Humphrey the Assistant Project Manager (APM) is assigned to assist the Project Manager with the entire project from start to finish and has a thorough understanding of the project. The APM supports the project manager and area superintendent in material deliveries, staff development, and overall project coordination. Their responsibilities include all procurement and timely delivery of materials to the project, review and processing of material submittals, expediting deliveries, and processing RFIs. They will develop bid packages, review/coordinate all shop drawings, oversee project cost accounting, and process owner and subcontractor billings. Ward-Humphrey APMs are trained to successfully estimate and negotiate all change orders and direct the project administration.
The APM plays an essential role in a successful project.
Overview of duties:
-Review and understand all contract requirements
-Assist in developing the Schedule
-Monitor maintain/update schedule
-Assist in development of QA/QC Plan
-Schedule and attend meetings
-Prepare and maintain submittal log
-Assist PM with development of SOV
-Close communications with Superintendent and project team
-Attend, prepare and distribute field meeting notes
-Create and maintain RFI log
-Assists in maintaining As-Built Plans & Specifications
-Final Inspection/Substantial Completion
Submit Request to Owner
Create and distribute punchlist
Verify punchlist completion with Superintendent
-Project team support - resources and materials
-Administration of Subcontracts, Purchase orders, RFIs- maintenance of logs
-Review Subcontractor/Vendor Payment application
