What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Haul Operations Planner Supervisor position at Ward North American?
Job Responsibilities
· Accept, reject and/or negotiate shipment requests.
· Plan, block and assign shipments to drivers.
· Daily checks in’s with driver and updates to both systems
· Coordinate vehicle and labor requirements with dispatchers in order to pick up, transfer and deliver customer's goods, on time and without damage, exceeding service goals.
· Monitor and update equipment lists and maintain data integrity of applicable systems.
· Maintain safety compliance at all times.
· Maintain comdata budget / and driver accounts
· Complete necessary packets /paperwork in a timely manner.
· Communicate Hauling budget with Hauler and GM on a monthly basis.
· Work closely with move coordinators to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize sales opportunities.
· Work with Claims to reduce haulers ERP
Desired Skills & Experience
· Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
· Must have a geographical knowledge of the U.S.
· Solid understanding of the Operations process and has passion for maximizing productivity.
· Ability to understand or quickly learn industry contracts, tariffs, pricing systems/ strategies, and current market trends.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills
· Ability to work with others.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Valid Driver's License and Reliable transportation required.
· Ability to respond to and manage customer resistance and conflict.
· Strong Customer Service Background and Operations Record preferred.
· Must be able to utilize a computer and technology to maximize efficiency and productivity in Operations process.
· Knowledge of the moving industry is preferred, but not required for a candidate with proven success and experience in Operations.
Must pass a Background check and Drug Screen
