JOB TITLE: Corporate Account Executive (National)
REPORTS TO: VP of Corporate Sales
OVERVIEW OF ROLE: Ward is all about providing its customers with exceptional customer experiences, which is why we are constantly developing best in-class services and offerings to create more resilient supply chains while also making things easier for our customers.
Over the last several years, we have grown our direct LTL shipping footprint through organic growth and acquisitions. This is why we have chosen to invest in our Corporate Sales division and are seeking a Corporate Account Executive. In this role, the ideal candidate will support our growth efforts through customer retention and new revenue growth.
Please note that there is a heavy travel component for this role. Candidates must have the ability to travel throughout the continental United States by car and plane, and customer entertainment is expected on a weekly basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales and grow revenue.
- Develop and maintain relationship with new and existing customers.
- Meet and exceed sales targets, tracking and managing progress through CRM tools.
- Submit pricing proposals and successfully negotiate contract renewals and rate increases.
- Learn how to sell and position our service offerings, which include LTL, Warehouse, Dedicated, Brokerage and Supply Chain services.
- Work closely with internal departments and coworkers to support our go-to-market strategy.
- Adhere to our Cultural Beliefs and represent our bran professionally and ethically.
- Provide exception customer service to maintain customer relationships.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape and emerging market opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in B2B transportation and logistics sales (3 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of the LTL “less than truckload” industry.
- Superb communication skills: written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with a passion for sales and meeting targets.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Excel.
