The Custodian Specialist role at the Warden School District is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff. This involves performing a range of tasks including cleaning, waste management, and maintenance of facilities.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
Bilingual in Spanish is an asset for this role, as well as first aid training. Experience in a rural school district working with a diverse population is desirable. Coaching, club, and advisory positions are also available.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and restrooms.
- Perform routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Operate mechanical equipment as required, such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers.
- Notify supervisors of any maintenance issues or needed repairs.
- Demonstrate integrity, loyalty, and professionalism in all interactions.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure schools are clean and free of hazards.
- Report any concerns or incidents to supervisors promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals.
- Stay up-to-date on new technologies and methods used in the field.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate must be able to lift and/or move 25-50 pounds, assist with moving larger objects when necessary, and be willing to work in outside weather conditions when required.
