What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Attedant/Driver position at Ware-Butler, Inc.?
A Yard Attendant/Driver provides prompt, courteous service to customers in the yard by assisting in the selection and loading of materials. The Yard Attendant/Driver also builds, stages, and delivers materials at the direction of the Yard Foreman or Store Manager. This position will require cooperation with all supervisory staff, other delivery drivers, and store personnel. This position reports to the Store Manager.
Follow all company policies, safety standards, comply with all state and federal traffic and requirements.
Assist pick-up customers in the yard in a prompt, professional manner.
Communicate clearly and professionally with dispatcher, yard foreman, or other supervisor to coordinate deliveries or to report issues.
Pick quality merchandise for delivery customers and build delivery loads.
Perform vehicle safety inspections, pre and post operation, and file inspection reports with yard foreman.
Load and/or inspect loads to ensure load is secure, and no unsafe vehicle or load leaves the yard.
Check load for picking accuracy and corrects errors as needed.
Unload product on job site to customer expectation by following written or verbal instructions and communicate with customer in a professional and service focused manner.
Contribute to Company efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
Report damage to equipment, inventory, or property to immediate supervisor the day it occurs.
Perform tasks deemed necessary by supervisory staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a valid state class c driver’s license with a clean driving record for 3 years.
- Must be approved by Company insurance program to be able to drive.
- Possess a high level of customer service skills.
- Ability to respond to hazards while driving and drive safely regardless of weather and time of day.
- Ability to read, understand, and act upon written language.
- Ability to perform basic math; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to repeatedly lift objects up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations and load and unload trucks by hand.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist repeatedly throughout the workday.
