What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Interventionist - Grades 7 & 8 position at Ware Junior Senior High School?
We are seeking a dedicated Academic Interventionist to provide targeted instructional support in core academic areas for students requiring additional assistance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective intervention strategies that promote student success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver group and individual instruction in reading and/or math to students identified for intervention services.
• Administer appropriate assessments to identify students' academic needs and monitor progress.
• Develop and implement instructional plans tailored to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core curriculum.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate findings with educators and parents.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in intervention strategies.
• Support and oversee the Student Assistance Team Process to ensure that students are receiving appropriate interventions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Math, ELA, Reading certification, preferred.
• Experience in delivering targeted instruction in reading and/or mathematics.
• Strong understanding of assessment tools and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
Work Schedule: Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:50 AM - 2:35 PM.
