What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant to Director of Student Services position at Ware Public Schools?
The Special Education Office is looking for a qualified candidate to support the overall effort of the Special Education Office. This is a 12-month position.
- Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and maintain confidentiality
- Intermediate computer and technology skills are required
- Schedule and reschedule all special education team meetings
- Assist with and monitor the special education budget
- Prepare purchase orders and process all invoices
- Arrange special education transportation
- Maintain files of special education students
- Enter data into systems (iPass, SIMS and eSped)
- Assist with correspondence, staff notifications and progress reports
- Coordination and documentation of services for out of district students
- Assist with Medicaid Reporting
- Assist Director in hiring and interview process
- Translation of documents and meetings
- Assist with ESY programming and implementation
- Order and maintain Special Education supplies and testing materials
- Prepare and send record requests
- Collaborate with outside contractors and providers for assessments and meetings
- Assist with Central Office duties, as needed
- In addition to possessing proficient English language skills, candidates with Spanish language abilities are preferred.
