What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Ware Shoals Pharmacy?
We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Technician that will process and fill prescriptions. You will undertake other tasks under the direction of a pharmacist to provide excellent customer service and ensure the pharmacy runs smoothly. As a pharmacy technician you must be detail-oriented and reliable since the job has high responsibility. You must possess excellent communication skills as well as aptitude in using computers.
· Must have at least high school diploma or equivalent.
· Must be registered with SC Board of Pharmacy. We will assist potential candidate to register with SC Board of Pharmacy (Candidate must be high school graduate, GED or equivalent)
· Must be at least 18 years of age as required by State Law.
· Excellent communication skills.
· The ability to use a computer for day-to-day tasks.
· Basic math Skills for counting medications and day supply.
· The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist and assists with the preparation, packing and delivery of products and services.
· Accept written prescriptions or refill requests from patients and evaluate information for completeness and accuracy.
· Verify the accuracy of patient information.
· Enter prescription data and bill to patient’s insurance through pharmacy software and generate prescription labels. Only a Licensed Pharmacist can override Drug Utilization Review and Drug Interaction Alert.
· Count and place prescription medications into suitable container and label prescription container appropriately.
· Process prescription medications sales only after a Licensed Pharmacist provides counselling to the patient.
· Perform inventory audits and order supplies and medications.
· Verify the accuracy of order received from suppliers.
· Record and Maintain Temperature log.
· Segregate and process return out of date products from shelves periodically under pharmacist’s supervision.
· Maintain records by recording and filing physician’s orders and prescriptions,
· Ensure a safe and clean pharmacy by complying procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPPA regulation.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
