2 years Medical Office experience required
24-30 Hours per week
Our office is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9am-6pm and Fridays 9-1
Hourly rate is dependent on ability and experience
Position Description
Chiropractic Assistants work under the supervision of fully licensed and accredited Chiropractors, scheduling appointments, checking in patients, applying hot or ice packs, obtaining necessary documents and authorizations from insurance companies and other medical office duties such as cleaning and disinfection. A moderate amount of medical knowledge, familiarity with insurance benefits and referrals/authorizations, a great deal of administrative skills, and most of all, direct patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets patients and checks them in, confirming their insurance status, the ways in which they will pay, their medical histories, and any other relevant medical information.
- Manages the practice’s schedule and makes appointments for patients.
- Collects and processes payments from patients and interacts with billing personnel regarding patient accounts.
- Controls the waiting room, attends to patient needs, and ensures the office runs on time.
- Facilitates start or end of treatment by applying hot or ice packs as directed. On-the-job training for e-stim application will be provided.
- Maintains organized files on all patients.
- Abides by HIPAA laws regarding sharing of personal medical information.
- Answers the phones and addresses all patient questions and concerns.
- Keeps the office clean and presentable, doing spot cleaning throughout the day and thorough cleaning at the end of each business day.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to multitask.

- Must be familiar with HIPAA regulations and medical information sharing practices.
- Must be willing to embrace a holistic health philosophy.
- Must be intelligent and organized.
- Must have strong communication skills and be able to relate to people from all walks of life.
- Must be proficient with technology with fast typing skills and ability to learn medical software programs.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision the majority of the time.
Education and Experience
- Must have two to three years’ experience working with people, preferably in a medical office or fitness/wellness environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience with Chiropractic or Physical Therapy preferred, but not required
Work Environment
- Must be willing to interact with people on a constant basis.
- Must be able to spend long hours sitting, standing, and minimal lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must have your own car for reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to periodically cover vacations or other employees' time off with adequate notice of additional hours or change in schedule.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
