What You’ll Be Doing:
- Trailer Inspections & Repairs: Identify and repair issues with trailers, ensuring they’re in excellent condition for our customers.
- On-the-Go Service: Drive our fully equipped service truck to customer locations, providing hands-on problem-solving in the field.
- Brake Repairs: Handle everything from minor adjustments to full replacements, ensuring trailer safety.
- Trailer Light Repair: Fix and restore trailer lights, ensuring all vehicles are road ready.
- Tire Replacement: Perform tire replacements to maintain the smooth operation of our fleet.
- General Maintenance: Keep the service truck, shop, and trailers clean and organized for maximum efficiency.
- Operating Equipment: Use tools like forklifts, high lifts, and semi-tractors to move trailers and complete tasks with precision.
- Reporting: Document work accurately through the shop’s work order system, keeping everyone informed of progress.
- DOT Compliance: Ability to pass a DOT physical and qualify to conduct Annual Vehicle Inspections for DOT compliance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding, cutting torch use, and operating small electric and pneumatic power tools.
- Fabrication Experience: Strong background in metal and wood fabrication.
- Mechanical Aptitude: A solid mechanical understanding and troubleshooting ability.
- Driving Skills: Ability to drive a tractor to move trailers when needed.
- Safety Focus: A "Safety First, Safety Always" mindset to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
- Tools: You must have your own tools to get the job done right.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary.
Qualifications to be successful:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Heavy Duty brakes.
- Previous mobile repair or mechanic experience (2 years).
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Subject to a criminal history background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
