What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Compliance Specialist position at Warehouse Specialists, LLC?
The Retail Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring our organization meets regulatory, safety, and operational retail compliance standards as specified by customers and industry standards. This position is critical to the success of our customer and retailer partnerships. This salaried position will report to the Vice President of Operations Excellence.
Duties and ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Gather retail compliance specifications from customers and internal teams during customer onboarding.
- Partner with Information Technology to ensure accuracy of retailer document development, testing, and approval.
- Ensure our Transportation team has the necessary information from the customer to properly route shipments.
- Review, condense, and document retailer guidelines necessary for Operations and Transportation teams to follow.
- Create and maintain all internal retail compliance documentation to ensure accuracy and execution excellence.
- Work with internal teams to develop and provide training and support on complex retail compliance requirements.
- Leverage understanding of how retail compliance processes and information flow across multiple systems.
- Audit operational and technical retail compliance procedures to identify opportunities and ensure execution.
- Understand industry standards in routing and transportation processes, document requirements, and freight billing.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and a key decision maker for aspects of retail compliance.
- Direct work to others, as needed, to ensure compliance to meeting customer and the retail partner expectations.
REQUIRED Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Detail oriented, high proficiency to accuracy, a self-starter, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and focus on multiple simultaneous tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication, an ability to consume complex information and formulate next actions.

- Ability to learn, interpret, and simplify complex routing guides and translate information for use by internal teams.

- A knowledge expert, an understanding of warehouse and transportation systems, processes, and data integration.
- Forward thinking and a proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business Management.
- 3 years of experience in project management, compliance management, data analysis, or a similar role.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Work remotely and out of an office in Appleton, WI; Dallas, TX; or Sauk Village, IL.
- Comfortable periodically working in a warehouse and interacting with site team members.
- Periodic travel (Up to 25%) will be needed to help train and further document processes at facilities.
- Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
