Primary Purpose:
Assist in receiving, storing, issuing and delivering of equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining inventory control.

Education/Certification:
Clear and valid Texas driver’s license

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions
Ability to perform basic math
Ability to communicate effectively with others

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Receiving and Distribution
- Verify accuracy of shipments and record any discrepancies or damage.
- Load and unload delivery trucks as needed. Unpack items and inspect shipments for damage and defects.
- Fill requisitions from stock items. Verify accuracy of orders pulled.
- Pickup and deliver materials as needed.
Inventory
- Sort and store items according to established inventory systems and procedures.
- Conduct physical inventory of warehoused equipment, tools, and supplies and verify against inventory control totals. Maintain inventory records.
- Requisition additional supplies from purchasing department as directed.
- Maintain custody records for items being repaired and temporarily on loan.
Safety
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and carrying. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Accounting
- Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing various state and local reports.
- Prepare invoices for accounts payable and submit to supervisor for approval.
- Prepare, process, and track all purchase orders and payment authorizations to the Financial Office.
Other
- Inspect vehicles and equipment following established inspection procedures to identify needed repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposre to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
