What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Specialist/Forklift Operator position at Warehousing Pro?
Warehousing Pro is a 3rd party commercial warehouse, providing storage, crossdocking, load reworking, etc services across a range of clients and industries. From contractors with building materials, to Amazon sellers with products to store and restock Amazon Fulfillment Centers, Interior Designers with new furniture for renovations, fitness equipment, industrial machinery - you name it.
We are looking for a careful, experienced forklift operator to unload and reload trucks, assist in stretch-wrapping pallets, sometimes unloading/reloading products by hand, and other tasks as needed. This position is a hybrid between forklift operating, and assisting in the warehouse. Must have a clean driving record, several years of prior experience on a sit-down forklift in a warehouse setting, clean drug/alcohol test, and awareness of your surroundings.
Hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM (shipping/receiving hours are 9AM-4PM). Closed from 12:30-1:00PM for paid lunch break
Responsibilities
- Unload freight from incoming trucks and store them for later recall (trucks could be dock-high or short trucks or even open/enclosed trailers, freight could be standard pallets, oversized pallets, or even floor-loaded cartons)
- Palletize and stretchwrap products as needed
- Rework fallen loads
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies at point of receiving, including documentation on BOL's and photos for client's review
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the warehouse
Skills
- 3 years proven experience as a capable, safe forklift operator
- Ability and willingness to do physical labor when needed (unload/reload floor-loaded boxes, palletize shipments, move products by hand, sweep/clean, etc)
- Attention to detail and familiarity with commercial/industrial warehouse environment
- Excellent physical condition and coordination
- Valid certification to operate a sit-down forklift
