CNN en Espanol FactCheck Intern: ATL - Summer 2025
Your New Role
This internship will be located in the Atlanta area. The selected intern will be expected to join FactCheck in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.
FactCheck is responsible for news group-wide script and story approval, including investigative scripts, documentaries, and sensitive and controversial stories. They ensure that stories meet high standards of storytelling, clarity, accuracy, quality, fairness, and balance while avoiding libel, defamation and use infringement issues. FactCheck editors sign off on TV and original online reporting, as well as other sensitive editorial matters. Researchers on The Row fact-check each piece before it is cleared for edit.

Your New Role

Your Role Accountabilities
- Fact check scripts, digital articles, and long-form stories.
- Review pieces for editorial accuracy, fairness, and balance.
- Field editorial requests from CNN correspondents around the world by phone, email, and in-person, and help track projects.
- Must be proficient in Spanish (Native/Fluent speakers)
- Interest in news and journalism
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Candidates should be pursuing a career in journalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid reporting and research skills
- Strong time management skills
- Well versed in current events, aware and interested in domestic and international news
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
- Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA)
- Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates on any student visa, including F-1, CPT, OPT, etc., without permanent work authorization will not be eligible for the internship program.

What To Know Before Applying
- The duration of the program is 10-12 weeks
- Option 1: June 2nd – August 15th
- Option 2: June 9th – August 22nd
- Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
- Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
- Interviewing will take place from late January through early April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
