Position Summary :
Live content through sports and other events is rapidly shifting to OTT delivery and is an essential part of WBD’s digital offerings. WBD strives to build a best-in-class live streaming platform to support this key aspect of our products, including Max, Discovery , March Madness Live, CNN Digital, EuroSport, and other iconic brands.
As Director of our Live Experiences team, you will lead the team responsible for partnering with our live production and broadcast partners to deliver the best possible live quality across our digital products, globally. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and enhancing the paths by which live content reaches our digital platform, managing configurations for live events and channels, and coordinating teams across the company to deliver next-gen live experiences with technologies like HDR, Immersive Audio, AI-based Accessibility, and more.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the Live Experiences team within WBD’s Direct to Consumer Organization.
- Hire, manage, and coach the Live Experiences team, consisting of Video Engineers who design, implement, and operate multiple aspects of our live platform, including the flow of live video sources, the configuration of live linear and event channels, and the rollout of new live streaming technologies.
- Design, implement, operate, maintain, and enhance the video content coming into WBD’s direct-to-consumer live streaming platform.
- Collaborate across teams, organizations, and companies to define and deliver next-gen live experiences across our digital products.
- Act as a liaison across all parts of the Warner Bros. Discovery business to accelerate live and linear shifts to OTT through Max and other DTC products.
- Initiate and oversee the execution of research and innovation efforts focused on improving live experiences.
