The Job
Live content through sports and other events are rapidly shifting to OTT delivery and is an essential part of WBD’s digital offerings. WBD strives to build a best-in-class live streaming and near live platform to support this key aspect of our products, including Max, Discovery , March Madness Live, CNN Digital, EuroSport, HBO, and other iconic brands.
As Staff Video Engineer in our Live Experiences team, you will be responsible for architecture, implementation, documenting, and operation of systems integrating with our live production and broadcast partners to deliver the best possible live quality across our digital products, globally. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and enhancing the paths by which live content reaches our digital platform, managing configurations for live events and channels, and coordinating with engineering and operations teams across the company to deliver next-gen live experiences with technologies like HDR, Immersive Audio, AI-based Accessibility, and more.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, operate, maintain, and enhance networking and video infrastructure supporting ingestion of video content into WBD’s Direct-to-Consumer platform.
- Collaborate across teams, organizations, and companies to define and deliver next-gen live experiences across our digital products.
- Initiate and oversee the execution of research and innovation efforts focused on improving live experiences.
- Provide executive level briefings for high profile projects.
- Document workflows and present to executive and operation teams as needed.
- Train operations teams in the workflow pipeline as needed.
- Provide on-call coverage as needed.
- Support and maintain an active on-air environment, including IP switches, A / V routers, and RF / fiber transmission facilities.
- Go on-site to studios, event sites, offices, and datacenters to install and maintain current and future systems required for streaming / broadcast delivery.
- Be a partner to our Brands and production teams, building trusting relationships with other engineers, operations, and product teams.
- Maintain file-based workflows for media supply chain, archiving, and VOD systems related to near live and live to file workflows.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and / or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range : $170,660.00 - $316,940.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time, and vacation.
