What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Digital Supply Chain position at Warner Chappell Production Music?
The Head of Digital Supply Chain will be a key strategic leader responsible for implementing and optimizing all aspects of Warner Chappell Production Music’s global digital supply chain and technology infrastructure, including day-to-day operations and development oversight of music search platforms, CRM, metadata, and asset/data hosting and distribution. This is a highly cross-functional role both within Warner Chappell Production Music, and the wider Warner Chappell and Warner Music Group teams.
This is a pivotal IT position requiring an innovative, strategic approach to a best-in-class music search platform and technical music and data management systems, while managing client, distribution, and sales team needs globally for music access and delivery.
The right candidate will be a highly motivated, forward-thinking leader with a proven track record of overseeing Supply Chain teams within tech, music, or media industries.
Here you’ll get to:
Management & Operations:
- Oversee technology and data strategy for Warner Chappell Production Music, in collaboration with WMG Tech
- Create and manage a long term development roadmap and budget, including evaluating, testing, and integrating appropriate internal and external tech solutions
- Oversee strategic and project management of our long-term external partner relationships and related budget and invoicing
- Lead OKRs across all functional areas of the WCPM supply chain
- Manage and mentor a small digital supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance
Music Search Platforms & CRM:
- Bring our search platforms to the forefront of digital technologies and front-end web development, delivering a best in class UX/UI experience in collaboration with external partners
- Steer new enhancements to existing applications to increase productivity
- Provide user activity analytics with integration to CRM and marketing software
- Translate differing territory needs and business practices into a strategic and effective CRM development roadmap
Metadata:
- Oversee big data management, manipulation, integration, delivery, and analytics for music metadata
- Inform technical policy on the creation and delivery of metadata across all labels (owned & third-party) and products
- Oversee a creative data strategy and how it directly impacts the quality of platform search results, addressing client trends and needs
Asset ingestion & Distribution:
- Oversee the bi-monthly new release ingestion & distribution process for all WCPM offices, catalog partners, and delivery end points
- Oversee metadata and audio asset spec requirements, including hosting, file encoding, and embedding
- Ensure an optimal, globally relevant, digital presence in all applicable markets and sub-published territories
About you:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8 years of experience in digital supply chain management, preferably in tech, music, or media industries with a deep technical ability as a trusted subject matter authority with content and data management systems
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others and a proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams
- Passionate about music and technology.

- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
We’d love it if you also had:
- A proven track record of breaking down complex processes and identifying key pain points in order to deliver business improvements at a global level
- A can-do approach with great communication and presentation skills to simply and effectively communicate complex processes and systems
- A working knowledge of Salesforce, Tableau, Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, Confluence, Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, Alteryx, and Agile project management is advantageous
- Familiarity with music copyright data systems and needs including CWR, DDEX, ISRC, ISWC, and Neighboring Rights
- Experience in Production Music, and a familiarity with music aggregators and distributors including Source Audio, Netmix, Harvest Media, DSPs, and social media platforms
- Understanding and application of search engine optimization principles and technical online customer acquisition strategies across both professional entertainment industries and creator markets (UGC)
