Full time (Monday – Friday, day shift, hours will vary as needed)
Under broad supervision of Laboratory Manager, is primarily responsible for phlebotomy procedures and for management of the blood drawing room. Keeps laboratory supplied with needed items from Central Supply and is responsible for keeping accurate records of all laboratory tests, performing other clerical tasks, and working closely with Patient Financial Services to ensure accurate and complete laboratory charges. Computer and typing skills required. Good verbal/written communication skills and good telephone skills also required.
Expected pay for this position is $18.31 – $22.24 per hour. Actual rate will be determined by multiple factors, including experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly non-exempt position.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- BLS Certification within 90 days of hire
- Knowledge of medical terminology helpful
- Previous experience in phlebotomy helpful
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing or sitting. May be exposed to communicable diseases.
