Medicare Pre-Sale Support Specialist I

Warner Pacific- Texas


The Medicare Pre-Sale Support Specialist will work closely with the Medicare Sales Specialist, Brokers and our business partners. The Pre-sales associate will help direct and guide brokers with the insurance carrier appointment and registration processes and is responsible for running proposals in the various quoting systems for our brokers. The position will respond to telephone and written inquiries and assist callers regarding Medicare issues relating to carrier appointments, quoting systems and general Medicare education.


Overview of Responsibilities

  • Strictly adhere to the CMS and Warner Pacific’s marketing and compliance regulations.
  • Maintain insurance license, AHIP and health plan certifications.
  • Clearly understand the mechanics and differences between Medicare Advantage plans, Part D plans and Medicare Supplements and be able to assist brokers with questions.
  • Assist and educate brokers on how to get appointed with Warner Pacific carrier partners.
  • Provide broker guidance and follow-up on carrier links for appointment process.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Warner Pacific contracted carrier plans and benefits.
  • Do assigned out-bound call projects, document outcomes with notes and update and maintain reports. Refer prospective Medicare brokers/agencies to Medicare Specialist.
  • Manage Sales Specialist calendar and schedule meetings for the Medicare Sales Specialist and assist with setting up broker trainings.
  • Participate in marketing events and exhibits as needed. Refer prospective Medicare brokers/agencies to Medicare Specialist.
  • Field Medicare broker questions and research as needed using various methods such as Medicare.Gov, Medicare and You, and Medicare Marketing Guidelines.
  • Direct brokers on how to submit Medicare enrollments and communicate eligibility requirements, Medicare review/approval process including timing of ID card receipt, etc. and the service contacts and process.
  • Become proficient in Sales Force software and document broker contacts to support Medicare Sales Specialist.
  • Become familiar with internal and external systems designed to search broker appointments and update notes where appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with new and existing brokers as well as carrier representatives
  • Respond to e-mails and phone messages within targets.
  • Provide back up in other areas within the department/company as needed/requested.
  • Other activities as assigned.

Additional Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; advanced education or degree preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have a current health insurance license and prior Medicare sales experience with equivalent background in terms of Medicare knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and demonstrate the use of computer systems, computer programs and office equipment as necessary, including ability to type a minimum of 30-35 wpm and proficiency in the use of a 10 key.
  • Ability to work on site (in the office) a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, generally with shift start times between 8:00-8:30 a.m., as determined by senior management.
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by senior management.
  • High level planning, organizing and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills lead to alternative coverage option considerations, with the same or other carriers.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Results oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve mathematical discrepancies.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm in pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.


Compensation

  • Salary Range* - $54,375-$72,500 annually.
  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level.
    • The salary range is the range Warner Pacific in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role. at the time of this posting. The company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans. The amount and availability of any bonus commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that e allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company’s sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
