Summary Description: The Adjunct Instructor for Nursing reports to the Dean of Nursing and is responsible for teaching upper division nursing course and/or providing clinical oversight and instruction at health-related agencies in the metropolitan Portland area.

Primary Job Duties:
- Teach assigned courses, including lecture and laboratory sections as assigned, in nursing, modeling current best practices in teaching, and demonstrating a commitment to sound andragogical and pedagogical practices. Courses may include, but are not limited to, The Role of the Nurse as a Manager of Care; Nursing Research, Statistics, and Evidence-Based Practice; Health Promotion and Assessment for RNs and Clinical; Diversity, Equity, and Advocacy; Epidemiology and Population Health; Family Care and Community Health and Clinical; Leadership/Management and Professional Role (Capstone).
- Advise and mentor students during the course.
- Clearly communicate to students when and how to secure instruction and feedback outside of regular course meeting hours.
- Provide prompt and thorough feedback to students to ensure their ability to incorporate changes before subsequent assignments.
- Work collegially with faculty, staff, and students.
- Understand and promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University .
- Contribute to the support and implementation of the University Strategic Plan.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills in all interactions with faculty, staff, and students.
- Participate in the professional development opportunities provided by the institution.
- Adhere to University policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the mission of the University and abiding by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.

- Graduate degree in nursing and teaching experience required.
