The Head Golf Coach is a part-time position reporting to the Director of Athletics in the best interest of the University. Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the University mission and abide by the Employment Standards and Lifestyle Agreement.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, good sportsmanship, and self-control.
- Organizes and conducts practice sessions.
- Upholds Cascade Collegiate Conference and NAIA rules in a framework of good ethical conduct; follows team/department disciplinary policies.
- Meet goals and objectives as communicated in the College’s Annual Performance Review.
- Demonstrates loyalty to the University.
- Works closely with Athletic Training office for the ongoing care of our athletes.
- Monitors the academic progress of the student-athlete.
- Follow departmental and college policies and procedures in regards to budget administration, expenditures, and fundraising.
- Exhibits commitment to inclusiveness and sensitivity in terms of human relations and human differences in the areas of national origin, ethnicity, culture, gender, disabilities, and sexual orientation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in Warner Pacific University professional development opportunities when appropriate.
- Understanding of the USGA Rules of Golf.
- Fundraise for trips outside of the CCC footprint and non-budgeted gear.
- Bachelor degree required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written communication.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Ability to travel 50-75% during season.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.
- Experience participating in collegiate sports or coaching at the high school or collegiate level.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
- Ability to multi-task with accuracy and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a varied-paced or fast-paced environment.
- Coaching experience in a collegiate environment.
- Experience recruiting student-athletes.
