Position Title: Irrigation Technician

Dept./Division: Horticultural Services Division

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary: We are looking for a reliable and experienced Irrigation Technician to service residential clients' irrigation systems. You will assist the Lead Irrigation Technician with energizing and winterizing systems for the season; testing, performing repairs as needed, and occasionally installing minor add-on's to existing systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Irrigation Technician

• Energize multiple residential and commercial clients' irrigation systems for the spring season and test entire system for operation, and performing repairs as needed.
• Perform irrigation repairs as needed, including repair and replacing pipes, tubing, sprinkler heads, backflows, timers, controllers, valves, irrigation lines, and other essential irrigation parts.
• Program and operate timers, clocks, controllers.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Drive to and from clients' properties, as well as to local vendors as needed to purchase irrigation parts, tools, and/or supplies.
• Winterize and shut down clients' irrigation systems for the winter season.
• Document all repairs, parts used, time spent, etc. at all properties.

Safety and Equipment

• Ensure the safe and proper use of all assigned equipment.
• Ensure that all personnel using equipment are authorized and trained to do so.
• Coordinate all routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs of assigned equipment.

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge and experience with irrigation systems. Ability to operate, troubleshoot and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems.
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
• Customer service experience.

Skills and Abilities

• Maintain valid driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Warner’s Nursery & Landscape’s insurance provider.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and fellow employees, and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 42 per week

Experience:

• Irrigation repair: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Flagstaff, AZ: Relocate before starting work (Required)
