Description
Position Title: Assistant or Associate Professor of Bible, Theology, and/or Church Ministry
Department: Academic Affairs > Department of Ministry
Position Summary: Warner University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position in Bible, Theology, and/or Ministry for Fall 2025. Individuals must hold a doctorate in Theology, Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical Studies, Ministry, or a closely related discipline and have experience teaching at the college level. The individual must have excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills. The chosen candidate will teach core undergraduate courses, including Christian Life: Faith and Practice, Understanding the Old Testament, and Understanding the New Testament, as well as other elective exegesis and theology courses. We offer a combined major in Bible, Theology, and Ministry.
Warner University offers students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to develop spiritually, academically, and professionally in a Christian environment. Faculty in the Ministry Department want students to mature spiritually, be committed to a mission of disciple-making, be accurate and faithful interpreters of the Bible, and have concrete ministry skills. Warner University undergraduate students take four classes from the Ministry Department, so faculty in the department will be interacting with students who are majoring in other subjects.
We desire candidates who affirm the inerrancy of the Bible without hesitation, are clear on the nature of the gospel, and are willing to share the gospel. Candidates should also have skills to teach our first-year Warner students, many of whom are first-generation college students. Work in or experience on the staff of a local church is also preferred.
Teaching experience in the contexts of evangelical and liberal arts traditions is preferred, and candidates who have some degree of theological educational experience in an evangelical context will be given priority.
Experience with online teaching and Moodle or a similar online learning platform is also desirable.
Procedure:
Candidates must submit the following:
- a letter of interest
- a curriculum vitae
- a faith statement that contains both a personal testimony and a thoughtful response to the university’s official statement of faith (https://warner.edu/the-university/who-we-are/full-statement-of-faith/)
- copies of all transcripts
- the names, titles, and contact information for 3 to 5 professional references
Applications will not be reviewed unless all requested materials are submitted.
Applications are being accepted and will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
The starting date is July 1st, 2025. Faculty rank will be contingent on qualifications and experience.
