Warning Lites of MN is expanding our team. We are looking to hire highly motivated individuals as Traffic Control Shop Laborer/Driver Helpers. Whether it is assisting in setting up a safe work zone, working in the warehouse, loading/unloading trucks or assisting in delivering product throughout the metro, these key employees keep our day to day operations on track.

The Role:

As a Traffic Control Shop Laborer/Driver Helper, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Assisting in setting up a safe work zone that ensures that traffic does not cause a threat to workers and the general traveling public. This involves setting up signs, barrels, barricades, and other approved traffic control devices that will guide the public through a work zone safely.  Equipment varies in size/weight (up to 100 lbs) and must be lifted/moved/picked up frequently and repetitively throughout the workdays.
• Loading and unloading trucks containing containing signs, barrels, barricades, and other approved traffic control devices, etc.  Equipment varies in size/weight (up to 100 lbs) and must be lifted/moved/picked up frequently and repetitively throughout the workdays.
• Performs shop work as required including preparing orders, cleaning and repairing equipment, and general housekeeping adhering to position Essential Functions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Successful candidates enjoy the physical demands of the position, are highly self-motivated, detailed, and take initiative to get the job done right while managing multiple tasks at once. We provide on-the-job training for the tasks that the TC Shop Laborer/Driver Helpers will need to perform but we do require the following:

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (as determined by our insurance company)
• Able to utilize a GPS device and read a map when assisting as a Driver Helper
• Ability to work long hours during Spring/Summer/Fall months
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
• Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (70 pounds) frequently and repetitively, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Must have the ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Must have working knowledge of English sufficient enough to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information
• Experience performing manual labor

Preferred:

• 3 years of overall, consistent work experience
• Traffic control experience

We offer:

• Starting wage between $19 - $20/hr.** Most of our shop laborers/driver helpers earn $35,000-$70,000 /season yr (spring through early winter).
• Opportunity for Prevailing Wage ($41.25/hr or more depending on the prevailing wage job). Prevailing Wage jobs earn overtime for working more than 8 hours per day
• Weekly pay
• Medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401k plus paid time off benefits.**The expected compensation represents a good faith estimate for this position and the specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to training, experience, skills, work location, licensure, etc.
