The job of a Nutrition Services Clerk was established for the purpose/s of providing general clerical support to assigned area; communicating general information to staff, vendors and the public; processing information in compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; providing information indicating that revenues are dispersed and expenses are within Board and budget limits, and maintaining accurate account balances.

Probationary Pay Rate:
$19.25 for 1st 45 Worked Days then moves to $20.41/hr.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) post-secondary classes in bookkeeping or accounting required. Working knowledge of general office procedures and equipment required. Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and to work independently as well as with others in a cooperative manner. Must have OPAC basic skills assessment, pertinent to position qualifications, at 80% on file in the Human Resources Department. If OPAC testing is not on file, selected candidates will be contacted for testing.
Basic Responsibilities:
•Attend meetings as assigned (e.g. staff meetings and interviews) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information
required to perform functions.
• Call substitutes for the cooks, cook helpers, etc. for the purpose of providing coverage where necessary.
• Distribute mail, menus, supplies, messages, etc. for the purpose of disseminating materials to appropriate parties.
• Inform personnel and vendors regarding a variety of procedures and program requirements (e.g. purchase orders, check requests, etc.) for the purpose of providing necessary information for completing transactions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with established fiscal guidelines.
• Perform record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. uniform allowances, filing, copying, faxing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting assigned administrator and/or site personnel.
• Evaluate situations (e.g. involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Maintain inventories of supplies and materials for the purpose of providing item availability
• Monitor assigned district activities and/or program components for the purpose of coordinating activities and providing compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
• Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g. faxes, emails, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, conveying information and/or complying with financial, legal and administrative requirements.
• Prepare written materials (e.g. reports, memos, letters, invoices, milk orders,etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
• Process documents, forms, mailings and materials (e.g. employee attendance, food production records, daily tickets, Free and Reduced Lunch applications, purchase orders, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
• Refer and respond to inquiries from school staff, parents, vendors and others as appropriate for the purpose of obtaining more information and/or services, etc.
• Maintain regular personal attendance and punctuality for the purpose of ensuring efficient delivery of services to the district. • Occasionally assist other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing job require some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling. Significant fine finger dexterity. Sitting - 75%, walking - 15%, standing - 10%
