Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team and make a lasting impact on children’s lives. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an engaging classroom that supports our Head Start program. Your role will involve not only academic instruction but also fostering social-emotional growth and resilience in children and partnering with families.
Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and prepare educational materials offering a variety of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities, as well as quiet and active learning activities, to assist each child in developing a positive sense of self.
- Work with teaching team to implement Creative Curriculum lesson plans and follow Ohio Learning and Development Standards and Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
- Collaborate with families, Disabilities Manager, and School Districts to support referrals and implement individual goals for each child.
- Conduct home visits and conferences with families, and complete child assessments/screenings throughout the year, to determine strengths and areas for growth.
- Use Conscious Discipline to support social-emotional development, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and actively supervise children following state licensing regulations and Head Start Performance Standards.
- Attend professional development trainings, staff meetings, and other relevant workshops.
- Obtain First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse Certifications.
- Complete pre-employment screenings (which includes background checks, drug screening, and medical statement). WCCS is tobacco-free (including e-cigarettes) on campuses and maintains a drug-free workplace.
