REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
KY certification for School Psychologist
OR
Enrollment in internship for a specialist degree/provisional certification
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act and the Kentucky Administrative Regulations related
to exceptional children.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The School Psychologist’s responsibilities are to provide psychological and psychoeducational services to all
students and school staff.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES & EVALUATION CRITERIA
Plans and manages goals, services, schedules, records and resources in order to facilitate a comprehensive
program of psychological services
Works with various school teams to support multi-tiered systems of support for all students within assigned
schools
Establishes specific program for psychological services integrating current knowledge in psychology and
education into daily practice and promoting the use of school and community resources
Formulates and communicates recommendations which integrate all data available; communicates
recommendations to facilitate decision-making and provides consultation to parents, school staff and others, as
needed
Conducts comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations that include, but are not limited to, the assessment of
intellectual, developmental, academic, social/emotional and behavioral status in a manner consistent with
professional standards and state/district policy
Utilizes psychological and psychoeducational assessment techniques to identify the learning and/or behavioral
needs of students
Participates in Admissions and Release Committees, both in interpreting assessment results and in planning
appropriate programs for individual children, including individual education programs and intervention plans
Serves as a resource to school Principals and other administrative staff on issues of school-level or system-level
concern
Utilizes evidence- based practices and data-driven decision making
Manages and provides guidance to assigned schools on regulations, policies, procedures and practices in
accordance with federal and state regulations and district policies and procedures
WARREN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Assists in planning and implementing in-service training and educational programs and assists in the
development of research grants and proposals
Performs all other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is performed by sitting, standing, or walking.. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping
and fine manipulations. The work at times may require bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, with the
ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Number of days worked will be determined by the current school calendar adopted by the Warren County Board
of Education. Salary shall be commensurate with the adopted certified personnel salary schedule. Leave accrual
will be as stated in Board Policy.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of Warren County Board of Education
policy on evaluation of classified/certified personnel. Evaluations will be conducted by the Director of
Exceptional Education or his/her designee.
