JOB GOALS
- The position of cafeteria staff requires an individual who is neat in appearance, clean in work habits and follow all safety rules; be confidential; work cooperatively with others; be courteous; have a positive attitude toward work; demonstrate a happy, helpful, attitude with students.
- To serve students and school personnel nutritious meals and attractive meals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the preparation of food portions and prepare cafeteria counter.
- Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work area.
- Clean worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, tables, counters, and furnishings.
- Wash pots, pans, trays, and dishes.
- Maintain the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
- Assume responsibility for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedures associated with the responsibilities of their jobs.
- Attend, when possible, all classes and conferences for lunchroom workers that are held in the school system.
- Observe all state and local regulations relating to lunchroom operation.
- Maintain required number of professional development hours.
- Abstain from the use of tobacco and alcohol while on the job.
- Follows all SOP's.
- Performs occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 40 pounds.
- Follows safety and sanitation rules.
- Calculates tally sheet and prepares inventory and daily production reports for cafeteria manager; plans food set-up for attractive display; calculates and plans food supply and preparation for the following day.
- Helps receive, date, and put new stock away.
- Follows instructions given by cafeteria manager or other designee, in the use of equipment, new methods or work, recipes, and any changes to the work schedules or number of hours to be worked.
- Works cooperatively with the cafeteria manager and other personnel at all times to promote teamwork and efficient production.
- Completes accurate work time record on a daily basis.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 20 pounds, extended standing and/or walking as shift allows. Other physical demands may be required.

WORK CONDITIONS
May experience some discomfort due to exposure to noise and temperature and as a result of standing for periods of time on inadequate floor material.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
