Job Description
TITLE: Head Varsity Baseball Coach
LOCATION: Warren County High School
REPORTS TO: Warren County Schools/High School Athletic Director
LENGTH OF EMPOLYMENT: Seasonal
As a High School Baseball Coach, you will coach and lead the school's baseball program. The WCHS Baseball program must follow all WCS board policies and the governance of the NCHSAA.
Responsibilities:
Organize and conduct regular practices to improve players' skills in batting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
Develop game strategies and tactics to maximize the team's performance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, both on and off the field.
Foster a supportive and respectful team environment that encourages sportsmanship.
Attend games, tournaments, and other team events.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and games.
Emphasize the importance of fair play and good sportsmanship.
Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to coordinate team activities.
Perform all necessary field maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in baseball.
- In-depth knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to undergo any necessary background checks or training.
