COUNTY OF WARREN
AIRPORT FACILITY ATTENDANT (PART TIME)
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs responsible human support work involving a variety of activities related to the operations of the Airport, ensuring the safe and effective operations and providing customer service to facility users and related Airport activities; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:
Assisting with the general maintenance and operations of the Warren County Airport

- Answers telephone; greets visitors; assists with registration; answers questions or directs callers to appropriate parties for disposition; responds to inquiries concerning interpretation of rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Receives, receipts and accounts for various fees.
- Monitoring radio to be aware of flight operations in order for runway to be clear and safe.
- Registers participants for programs and collects required information and fees.
- Provides a variety of general clerical support; types correspondence and other department forms and reports; maintains files and records; collects data for records and reports and enters into computer.
- Oversees and assists with all operations, programs and activities scheduled during assigned duty hours.
- Performs regular opening and closing duties of the airport, including maintenance inspections and securing the facility.
- Provides close supervision to all activities occurring at the airport.
- Ensures that the building, facilities and equipment are safe for use by the public; conducts formal and spot inspections; takes corrective action when necessary to ensure public safety; notifies supervisor of actions taken or required.
- Distributes information to airport users in person, by telephone and written correspondence; interacts face to face with the public; assures effective delivery of public services; provides assistance to visitors to resolve conflicts and questions; communicates all comments and complaints to the appropriate personnel.
- Interprets and enforces department policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Resolve public conflict, scheduling problems and conflicting activities.
- Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Some knowledge of buildings, grounds, landscape areas, maintenance and repair procedures; some knowledge of the safe use, operation and preventive maintenance of the equipment to which assigned; skill in the use of equipment to which assigned; ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to read and write; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience involving customer service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects and some heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions., extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions and oils.
