Part-Time Temporary Secretary
The Board of Equalization (BOE) is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to fill a Part-Time Temporary Secretary position. This role provides administrative support to the Board of Equalization on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with managing schedules, handling correspondence, and maintaining records.
Some key responsibilities of this position are to assist with the preparation of meeting schedules, maintain and organize board records, documents, and other materials in a systematic manner. Other duties include coordinating communication between the BOE and other departments, stakeholders, and the public. This position will also be responsible for responding to public inquiries, providing general information about board activities, and providing general administrative support. This position will be required to attend all of the BOE hearings, to serve as clerk. This will require some evening hours, some half days and full days usually in 4-hour groups but will not exceed 20 hours a week.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school is required, additional coursework or training in office administration or public administration is preferred. Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role, and experience with government or board-related work is preferred. A successful candidate will have excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, strong written and verbal communication skills, be knowledgeable of Warren County roads, have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion, be flexible and able to adapt to a changing tasks and schedules, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
This is a part-time, temporary position, with no benefits. The hourly rate is $16.60.
