Job Title: Zoning Officer/Floodplain Administrator
Department: Planning and Zoning
Grade & Wage: $16.72 Per Hour (Non-Exempt)
Status: Full time (40 hours per week) with benefits, Non-Exempt, Union-Eligible
Qualifications: Minimum high school graduate or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
Experience: Ability to analyze and interpret the Zoning and Floodplain Ordinance for compliance with all permit applications and requests.
Code enforcement experience.
Familiarity with the interpretation of complex rules and regulations.
Prior experience working with the public.
Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills; sympathetic, yet able to enforce ordinance requirements.
Good interpretation and analytical abilities; capable of interpreting state and local laws.
Ability to utilize map drawing skills (cartography).
Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, and to advise on complex compliance methods.
Current driver’s license to travel to various properties and locations.
Ability to work in all environments, sometimes inclement weather and on difficult terrain.
Thorough knowledge of all ordinances and legal regulations pertaining to zoning.
Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and Geographic Information System (GIS) software applications.
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.

Schedule: Monday thru Friday / 08:00 am – 4:30 pm/occasional evenings, with 1/2-hour unpaid lunch
