General Description: The Administrator is a qualified person appointed to administer, direct and coordinate all the activities of WGH's Hospital Home Care Services.
JOB DUTIES:
- Plans overall development and administration of HHCS as set forth in federal and state regulations including completion, maintenance and submission of federal and state required reports and records.
- Develops administrative policies and procedures relating to HHCS.
- Reviews department policies and procedures annually and revises as necessary.
- Develops standards and methods of measurement of activity, executes the annual program evaluation.
- Chairs Advisory Committee or appoints same.
- Establishes specific goals and objectives for HHCS which support the overall goals and objectives of the hospital.
- Directs implementation of work methods and procedures to ensure achievement of the objectives of the department
- Supervises and directs the activities of HHCS personnel and other personnel engaged in the performance of home care services.
- Responsible for quality of care rendered through HHCS. Evaluates and audits quality of care rendered by the HHCS
- Prepares and maintains necessary patient records with a high regard for patient confidentiality.
- Maintains a safe working environment and safe work practices. Maintains the responsibility for the safety of departmental personnel while on the job.
- Evaluates and supervises the work performance of employees including resolution of staff complaints.
- Participates in the recruitment of new departmental employees and maintains the responsibility of orienting and training new employees to their job.
- Responsible for the preparation and tracking of schedules, vacation, coverage and pay roll information.
- Maintains and advances all HHCS personnel policies and related hospital policies.
- Maintains and promotes interdepartmental relationships.
- Maintains and promotes positive professional and personal rapport and relationships.
- Plans and prepares annual and supplemental budget estimates and administers approved budgets.
- Establishes and maintains workload reports and statistical analysis.
- Supervises the use and care of supplies and equipment, responsible for maintaining adequate supply level, requisitions supplies and capital equipment.
- Actively confers with physicians relative to treatment programs and patient care.
- Provides consultation services to community agents, agencies, home health care services patients and patient families.
- Performs other similar or related supervisory and professional duties.
WORK/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of accredited, professional nursing program, B.S.N. Preferred.
- Must have current unrestricted licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Current CPR Certification
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel
- Knowledge of corporate business management and all regulatory standards and laws related to Home Health Care
- Commitment to excellence with demonstrated organizational planning, communication, decision-making and leadership skills.
- Highly motivated, team player with the ability to work within a dynamic environment
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory or administrative experience in the field of community health, hospital administration or health-related facility
