We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead our pharmacy department in a dynamic healthcare environment. The focus of this position is to optimize drug therapy for each patient and achieve definite medication-related outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for pharmaceutical services at Warren General Hospital
- Plan, organize and supervise pharmacy activities and staff
- Implement systems designed for performance efficiency
- Provide pharmacology consulting service to medical staff
- Assures appropriate medication schedules for patients
- Identify and document drug-related problems in high risk, high cost disease states
- Create and update department policies and procedures
- Draft written reports and recommendations to hospital administration
- Control DEA drugs by managing records for receipt, issuance and use
- Supervise sterile compounding, inventory control, billing, pricing and medication file functions
Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
- Registered pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania
- 5 years experience in hospital pharmacy practice
