In this role you will perform both clinical and administrative duties, such as:
- Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and reason for visit.
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens (e.g., blood draws, urine samples).
- Perform basic laboratory tests and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
- Educate patients on prescribed treatments, medications, and preventive care.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups.
- Handle patient check-in and checkout processes, including collecting payments and verifying insurance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to medical staff.
- Coordinate referrals and authorizations for specialty care or diagnostic services.
What's Needed:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous clinical, medical office experience; Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Superior communication, customer service and organizational skills
