Working under the direction of a certified teacher, the paraprofessional assists with classroom management, instructional support, and student needs. This role involves reinforcing academic concepts, providing individualized or small-group assistance, and ensuring that classroom routines and procedures are followed effectively.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Instructional Support:
- Reinforce learning concepts and skills to help students grasp key academic content.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students needing additional support.
- Assist in the preparation of lesson materials, resources, and classroom activities.
- Help students with assignments, homework, and provide guidance when necessary.
- Assist in grading tests, homework, and other assignments, as directed by the teacher.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise students during class and outside activities (e.g., recess, lunch).
