Warren-Walker School is seeking Summer Camp Counselors for Camp Gulls this summer!

As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers. You will be assisting and supporting teachers in leading and supervising daily activities, managing group dynamics, and creating a positive and inclusive camp environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Help facilitate and lead daily activities, including sports, games, arts and crafts, and other recreational activities for groups of campers.

Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all activities, lunch, and field trips, following all camp policies and procedures.

Manage group dynamics and maintain a positive and inclusive camp environment, promoting teamwork and respect among campers.

Work collaboratively with other camp staff to plan and execute special events, theme days, and other camp-wide activities.

Maintain accurate records and documentation, including camper attendance, incident reports, and evaluations.

Attend all required staff meetings, training sessions, and other camp-related events.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Assistant Director.

Help maintain facilities cleanliness and tidy up areas used by campers.
Qualifications

Experience working with children in a camp or recreational setting is preferred.

Must be able to stand, walk, and participate in physical activities for extended periods of time.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills,and a strong command of the English language.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
This is a seasonal position, typically lasting 7-8 weeks during the summer months.
Work schedule will include weekdays only, typically from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with lunch and rest breaks provided as required by law. Hours not to exceed 30 per week. No overnight duties required.
Potential start date before the end of the current school year, working after school hours on weekdays. Transition to full-day summer camp schedule in June. Opportunity for continued employment in the extended care program during the following school year.
