Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll for office and field staff, including tracking certified payroll for prevailing wage projects.
- Review and record accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Manage full-cycle accounting for construction projects, including job costing, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze project budgets, forecasts, and variances, providing insights to project managers and leadership.
- Review and approve pay applications after project managers signoff, ensuring compliance with contract terms and client requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax, use tax, and multi-state tax filings.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during annual audits and tax preparation.
- Comply with internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in construction accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, or Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of construction financial practices, including percentage-of-completion accounting and AIA billing.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements, union reporting, and multi-state taxation is preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

- This position is primarily a sedentary office role, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer, and communicate effectively.
