Warren Wilson College is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Admissions, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing recruitment strategies that support increasing enrollment of transfer students to our vibrant campus. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years professional work experience in undergraduate admissions at a regionally accredited 2- or 4-year college or university.
- Prior experience with transfer credit evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to creating a positive and supportive experience for prospective students.
- Experience with google workspace, including gmail, drive, sheets and docs.
- A genuine interest in and enthusiasm for Warren Wilson's mission, values, and unique educational model.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from a diverse range of identities and experiences.
- Valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated experience with event planning, coordination, and public speaking within a higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency utilizing the Slate CRM or a similar recruitment system.
- Prior work experience with Transfer admissions requirements and processes, and scholarship and financial aid resources in higher education.
Key Responsibilities
Transfer Student Recruitment and Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and enroll transfer students.
- Build meaningful relationships with college advisors, community college counselors, and other key partners to create strong enrollment pipelines.
- Attend college fairs, transfer fairs, and community events to promote Warren Wilson College (travel up to 10–12 weeks per year).
- Guide prospective transfer students through the application and enrollment process, providing personalized support and timely communication.
- Organize and participate in recruitment events, including on-campus and virtual sessions tailored to transfer students.
Relationship Building and Partnership Development:
- Cultivate partnerships with community colleges and other institutions to enhance visibility and attract qualified transfer applicants.
- Serve as a resource for counselors and advisors, offering information and materials to assist students considering a transfer.
Admissions and Communications Management:
- Use the admissions CRM (Slate) to develop and execute personalized communication plans for prospective transfer students.
- Monitor and report on transfer student enrollment trends and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Conduct application reviews and recommend admissions decisions in a thorough and timely manner.
Impact and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office, Registrar, and faculty to ensure a smooth transition for transfer students.
- Contribute to a welcoming and supportive campus community that values transfer students and their unique contributions.
- Represent the Office of Admissions in campus-wide initiatives and committees related to transfer recruitment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping students succeed.
- Experience building partnerships and engaging with diverse groups, including students, counselors, and advisors.
- Familiarity with transfer admissions and community college systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel as needed.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (Slate preferred) and data management tools.
