As a store manager in training, you are responsible for establishing and maintaining exceptional customer service standards. Your role will involve overseeing the operation of a store to ensure maximum sales and profitability through effective merchandise management, inventory control, expense management, human resources oversight, and operating cost management. You will also assist the Store Manager with daily tasks and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensure optimal merchandise stock levels, adjacencies, and presentations across all departments
* Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures through regular store meetings, audits, and walk-throughs
* Ensure the store has an appealing product mix to drive sales growth
* Maintain a high store image evaluation score (at least 85%)
* Adhere to local liquor regulations
* Accurately record sales, invoices, markups, markdowns, and voids within established guidelines
* Train and develop store management and staff on business aspects
* Prepare and submit daily bank deposits without delay
* Demonstrate adaptability and project a positive company image at all times
* Conduct price comparisons and share results with directors, making adjustments as necessary
* Collaborate with team members to achieve goals and tasks
* Analyze business trends, develop plans to maximize sales, and meet or exceed objectives
* Continuously evaluate performance, address issues, and recruit management candidates
* Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring all store employees follow suit
* Schedule shifts, assign workers, and ensure adequate coverage
* Prepare shift reports and enter information into the computer system
* Control shrinkage, expenses, and payroll
* Review department/store trends and recommend changes to maximize goals and objectives
* Notify Area Manager of cash discrepancies exceeding $35.00
* Ensure proper sale and accounting for money orders during shifts
* Foster a guest-friendly environment by providing outstanding service, maintaining solid product knowledge, and acknowledging every guest
