Structural steel fabricator in Hutchinson, Minnesota, seeks qualified Structural & Mechanical Steel Designers to become a part of its team! The ideal candidate will have either an A. S. or B. S. degree.
- Structural: Generate detailed 3D models and shop fabrication drawings of steel support towers, trusses, and related equipment for customer review and approval.
- Mechanical: Generate detailed 2D/3D models and shop fabrication drawings of material handling equipment, such as: drag conveyors, bucket elevators and belt conveyors.
Responsibilities
- Calculate dimensions and tolerance.
- Provide daily/timely updates for model and drawing completion and prioritize workload.
- Coordinate with other colleagues in the design group regarding complex design details and models.
- Review and modify designs with project manager to minimize fabrication time.
Qualifications
- Experience in modeling and detailing (preferably in the structural steel field)
- Minimum: A.S. Degree
- 1 year experience preferred, but not required
- Structural: Experience in modeling and detailing (preferably in the structural steel field)
- Mechanical: Experience in mechanical design (preferably in a machine design setting)
- Design drawing interpretation
- Preference given to applicants with knowledge of:
- 3-D software (Solidworks and/or SD2)
- Auto-CAD
- EPDM
- OSHA and IBC Codes
- AWS Welding symbols
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Deadline and detail-oriented
