Pay Range: $20-$35 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview:
As the Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel-powered heavy, light, and medium-duty vehicles. This role involves preventive maintenance, diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. To be successful, you will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on gas and diesel-powered heavy, light, and medium-duty vehicles.
- Change tires and analyze electronics on vehicles.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Complete all assignments as directed.
- Conduct purchases in accordance with Purchase Order Requirements for purchases over $100.00, including obtaining approval from the Supervisor and including the proper vehicle/unit number on each purchase order.
- Use diagnostic tools and critical thinking to identify mechanical issues in vehicles, including engine problems, electrical malfunctions, or transmission faults.
- Repair any mechanical or electrical issues that arise to ensure optimal performance and vehicle safety.
- Adhere to safety regulations to prevent accidents or injuries in the workshop or on job sites.
- Report complex problems or issues to supervisors, managers, or clients, and provide recommendations for solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including maintenance reports and work orders.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Basic understanding of computer operations and data entry.
- Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Calm and rational problem-solving skills.
- Ability to back a 40’ trailer into tight areas.
- Ability to qualify for ASE Brake certification.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years experience as a medium and heavy service equipment mechanic.
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Mechanic certificate.
Pay and Benefits:
- Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range, which will depend on your skills, qualifications, and the base pay for this role is between $20 and $35 per hour.
