All applications are welcome. Preference given to underemployed/unemployed National Guard, Reservists and Veterans. No Experience Necessary! We are currently filling pre-apprenticeship training positions, with job placement assistance provided. However, direct hire positions are available for those with relevant experience.
8-week apprentice training includes in-person instruction on the campus of Vincennes University. DOL approved National Infrastructure Technician Academy courses are being held through cooperation with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and under the provisions of the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprentice Program (TIRAP). Earn required OSHA, DOT, and Red Cross certifications prior to being placed in an On-The-Job learning environment for hands-on work leading into a paid apprenticeship position. Follow-on employment assistance will be provided through our various employment partners, including Verizon, Mainstream Fiber Networks, AmeriCrew, and more.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to install fiber optic cables and/or splice fiber optic cables in both outdoor and indoor settings, read, create and maintain construction diagrams, taking and maintaining accurate splicing and field notes and support project timelines.
